The OUP

Today I had lunch in the Oxford University Press building. My friend Anne works there. Lunch was lovely and it was cool to see the big Georgian buildings. The OUP is surprisingly big!

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

But the fire inside the octagon is so delightful.

Sunrise this morning

Nathan and I got up early today to go to London. This picture was taken at 7:30 am.

Inside the Divinity Schools

The room is normally closed to the public, but is open tonight for a Christmas concert.

Morning light

From left to right, the RadCam, Brasenose, and Exeter.

Port Meadow

A remarkably sunny day in November. The next morning was frosty.

Magdalen College

I went to Magdalen to attend a workshop that my friend Tere put together. Most of these pictures are from Magdalen's Cloisters Quad, which is one of the most beautiful places in Oxford.

Looking through the bars at some rarely visited colleges

Regents Park, St Cross, and Blackfriars. It took me ages to find the first.

Putting up the Christmas tree in Broad Street

Oxford has lots of Christmas decorations. Look for more as we get closer to December!

Flowers in the wall by Wadham

A cold little ladybird as well!

Harris Manchester College

I have been going to a teaching seminar lately where this statue and I observe the quad.

The fish in St Catz

I hope they are warm! Because it is really cold out today.

This... is not a parking space.

It was weirdly just outside the English and Law Faculties.

In Streatley

Nathan and I went for the day.

In the Icelandic room of the English faculty library

Reading up for finishing my background chapters.

A very old book about archaeology in Iceland

I particularly like the hand drawn map.

Autumn leaves in the water

On the west bank of Port Meadow.

Cormorant in Port Meadow

A cold but sunny morning.

Ferry Hinksey Park

The view from atop Shotover hill, which is near Headington. Nope! Actually the large park off Ferry Hinksey Road at sunset.

The Gladstone Link

In the newly refurbished basement of the Bod. Shockingly nice for a place that used to be a dark, dank place.

Exeter quad viewed from the steps of the dining hall

Rain across Christ Church Meadow

Reflection

Durham Castle

This is now a part of the University, directly across from the cathedral.

We went up to Durham so I could collect some samples.

Testing, testing

I want to test out the picture settings, so here is Nathan Hard at work on the RSL.

An old favourite
